Per Oklahoma Board of Nursing P-23 and OAC 485:10-7-3, within the past two years before expiration complete one of the following. Options may not be combined in the same two-year period.

  1. 520 or more work hours in a position requiring nursing licensure; or
  2. 24 or more contact hours of nursing continuing education; or
  3. Current nursing specialty certification; or
  4. Board-approved refresher course; or
  5. 6 or more academic semester credit hours of nursing coursework at your current level or higher.

You cannot mix paths (for example, 260 hours plus 12 CE does not satisfy the rule). Most RNs use practice hours or 24 CE. Keep proof for audit.
