Trust credential wallet: frequently asked questions

On your phone. They never leave your device unless you explicitly share them. There is no Trust server holding your credentials.

Your credentials are protected behind your device's lock. If you back up your phone to iCloud with encrypted backup enabled, your Trust data is part of that backup — restorable to a new device. If you don't, you'll need to re-add your credentials on a new device. We can't restore them for you because we don't have them.

No. There is no employer dashboard. There is no admin login. Your employer cannot access Trust data unless you choose to share a credential PDF with them.

Trust is built to operate outside the HIPAA framework. Because Trust never holds your health information on its servers — your credentials live only on your device — Trust is not a covered entity or business associate. The strongest privacy posture is the one where the data was never collected in the first place.

For now, we don't. Trust may offer an optional Pro tier in the future with features like verifiable share. The core wallet will always be free.

Yes. Use the custom credential option to add issuer name, credential number, dates, and an attached PDF or photo.

No. Trust holds what you tell it to hold. Verification is the issuer's job — Trust links to the issuer's verification portal where one exists.

Default cadence is 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before expiration, calibrated where possible to the issuer's renewal window. You can adjust the cadence per credential.

No. Trust gets you to the renewal portal with the right credential info already in hand. The renewal itself happens at the issuer.

Boards open renewal at different points — California's BRN opens roughly 90 days out, Texas opens on the first of your birth month, and most AHA cards have no window at all because you can recertify any time. Trust anchors the first reminder to the day your board's window opens rather than a fixed 90 days, so you are never told to renew before the portal will accept you.

The renewal guides on this site carry a visible 'Last verified' date, and each one cites the board page it came from. When a board changes a fee, a CE rule, or a deadline, the guide and the in-app cycle for that credential are updated together.

Yes. You can log CE hours against a credential as you complete them, attach the certificate PDF, and see how many hours remain before the cycle closes. Trust does not report those hours to a board — CE Broker, CE Passport, and equivalent state systems remain the official record.

Your primary state of residence holds the license; the compact privilege travels with it. Trust tracks the single license and its CE obligation, and flags a state whose own requirements apply when you practise there. There is a fuller explanation on the compact tool page.

Stop practising and follow the reinstatement route for your board — it is a different application from a renewal, with its own fee and often extra CE. The lapsed-license guide walks through the sequence state by state.

Every fee, CE hour count, and deadline is taken from the board's own published page, cited at the bottom of each guide. Where a board has not published a figure, the guide says so rather than estimating.

Open the credential, tap Share, pick how — email, AirDrop, Messages, Files. Trust generates a PDF on your device. The shared PDF is just a PDF; there's no tracking.

Many issuer organizations (AHA, NREMT, state boards) offer verification portals. Where Trust knows the verification URL, we include a QR code on the shared PDF that links to that portal.

Restore the new phone from an encrypted iCloud or Finder backup of the old one and your Trust data comes across with it. Without an encrypted backup, export your credentials first, then re-import on the new device.

Yes. Export produces a file containing your credentials, dates, logged CE, and attachments, generated on your device. It is yours to keep — nothing about the export touches a Trust server.

It is gone with the app, because it only ever lived on the device. Export before deleting if you want to keep a copy. There is no server-side copy for us to restore.

You will need to re-add your credentials on a new device. We cannot recover them, because we never held them. This is the direct trade-off of on-device storage — the reason no breach of ours can expose your licence numbers is the same reason we cannot restore them for you. Turning on encrypted device backup takes a minute and removes the risk.

Trust exposes an MCP endpoint that lets an AI assistant look up renewal rules, CE requirements, and compact status from the same dataset that powers the guides on this site. It answers questions about requirements; it does not read your wallet.

No. The connector serves public renewal reference data only. Your stored credentials stay on your phone and are not reachable through it.

Short question banks for BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NREMT-style material, meant for keeping recall sharp before a recert class. They are practice, not an accredited CE course, and they do not earn hours.

Trust is an iOS app today. We are not announcing a date for any other platform.

No account, and no connection for the wallet itself — adding, viewing, and sharing credentials all work offline. A connection is only needed to open a board's renewal portal.

The core wallet is free and will stay free. Any future optional tier would sit on top of it, not gate it.
