How to recertify your PTCB CPhT
PTCB certification renews every two years with 20 hours of continuing education — at least 15 pharmacy-technician-specific, including one hour of pharmacy law and one of patient safety — and a $55 application fee. Applications are due 30 days before expiration; expired certifications can be reinstated within one year.

Requirements
20 CE hours within the cycle. Minimum 15 T-specific ACPE hours; up to 5 P-specific permitted (this is a rule change — older guides say all 20 must be tech-specific).
Mandatory topics: 1 hour of pharmacy law + 1 hour of patient safety.
College credit: up to 10 of the 20 hours from a relevant college course (grade C or better). In-service hours from employers are not accepted.
Reporting: CE flows through NABP CPE Monitor. You need an NABP e-Profile ID linked to your PTCB account — do this early, not renewal week.

If you're late
Expiration is 11:59 p.m. ET on the date — then stop using the credential immediately.
Within 1 year: reinstate for $95, plus one extra pharmacy-law hour (2 total). The cycle clock does not reset — you get the remainder of your original cycle.
Past 1 year: retake the PTCE as a new applicant.
Losing CPhT also voids CSPT and CPTEd certifications stacked on top of it.
